At PAX East this year, a panel of Bioware bigwigs had a sitdown with some interesting facts regarding who did what in Mass Effect 3. Some of the answers might surprise you.
They also said a lot about very little on the next steps for the Mass Effect franchise. The Mass Effect movie got mentioned again too, but I'll be getting to that later.
Oh, and about the Citadel DLC, I have not played it. I have run out of room on my Xbox's hard drive, so I'll finding whatever I have on there I don't need right now and will be getting rid of that for a while to make some room.
Plus, part of me doesn't want it to be over...
Anyway, a panel of seven of the Bioware dev team discussed some of the final statistics gathered over the course of Mass Effect 3's play cycle.
See the full video here; www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYhtNR…
While it may be surprising to some, the revelation that about a third of people killed the quarians, thus driving lovable Tali-chan to off herself. While you might focus on the third that did, it still leaves a strong majority, about --le gasp-- two thirds, who did not.
The ratio of male to female Shepards has also remained rather unchanged at an eighty to twenty, when rounded. The conclusion I've made is that the people who do play as female Shepards are the people who contribute about fifty percent of the traffic you see online such as here and places like FanFiction.net. (Although there might be less traffic there due to that drama on FF.net about people being told not to post their "Fifty Shades Of Garrus" fics there, but I'm not up-to-date on that issue.)
I would still like to have some clarity on whether or not these are the stats from people's first run through, or from all their characters. Ah well, what's life without a little mystery?
Oh, and sixty percent of people not even meeting Wrex in ME3 just makes me sad...
And then there's them talking about the next step and Mass Effect's future where they go into very little specifics, but it should however give some insight into their thought processes going forward.
