Harbinger Is Assuming Control! New MP Expansion!Bioware has announced yet another awesome-looking expansion to the ever-growing Multiplayer component of Mass Effect 3.

What do we have here? This is the largest expansion to the multiplayer to date.
Well, first and foremost, we have an entirely new enemy faction: the Collectors are returning to Mass Effect!
The old faces from ME2 will be coming back with the Praetorian, Scion, Abomination, Trooper and Collector Captain, and these familiar foes will fight alongside the new Dragoons and different Geth drones.
Two new allies will be made available, the Turian Ghost Infiltrator and Havoc Soldier. Jet packs, people.
Just when you thought getting thrown off the map as a Vanguard was fun.
Bioware says "many more" characters will be added on a "regular basis".
Collector Weapons will be made available as well, coming with the assault rifle, SMG, and sniper rifle all in your favorite crunchy buggy flavor!

Mass Effect 3 - Happy Ending Mod...
Yet again the Mass Effect Fandom proved that it will not leave the ending in the state it was presented in the game. A certain (fan!) mod was created (and is right now in the testing phase) a Happy Ending Mod for ME3. We can destroy the Reapers, Shepard lives (EDI and Geth too) and most importantly of all we don't have to worry about the Star Child.

Well, that's completely accurate.
Coming next Tuesday, on the 17th (for North America at the very least) will be the Earth Multiplayer Expansion. Featuring new characters, male and female, for each of the six classes, three devastating new weapons, three new maps and a new Platinum difficulty level for the Krysae people to sink their kill-stealing mitts into.

Wow, an actual easy mission this time, Shepard thought as she entered the geth's virtual world alone.

Geth fighter squadrons had targeted quarian liveships with attacks that would have a serious impact on their fleet. Shepard, along with the help of Legion and Garrus, had gone to the Geth Comm Hub on Rannoch to disable the server controlling the geth fighters.

Shepard followed the virtual path, disrupting the Reaper code infections along the way and making it to her first data cluster. She cleared out the cluster and then a new path was revealed that led her to the next cluster.

Bioware to aim for your delicious tears once more.There are few, very few inescapable truths. One being the fact that Chris Matthews goes home every night to renew the magical wards that keep the dessicated soul of his hair in the realm of the living. Another being the fact that Bioware subsists on the delicious tears of their fans, and they are gunning for them once again.
While some of you may still be working on Omega --I'm downloading it today, in fact-- Bioware is rolling ahead with its next DLC. According to forum posts it's "all hands on deck" for this one, writing wise, involving "pretty much every ME writer at Edmonton."
There's a good chance that this might be the last DLC of the Shepard trilogy, and it's been said that there is a "high potential" for tears.
Although beyond these statements, there've been no real things said about this unannounced add on. Likely due to how it's not been announced yet. (I know, who'da thunk.) Although Sam Hulick is coming in again for the music.

Official Turian Female sneak peak and N7 Day...

After 5 years, after 3 games and after much speculation we finally have an official in game Turian female. It's shame that Bioware didn't decide to include Turian female models in the main game, because now it feels like a token girl and not much more. Also the fact that it will be featured in the paid Omega DLC makes it even more bittersweet, but hey it's still better than nothing. The DLC will appear on November 27th and will cost 1200 Bioware/Microsoft points. Tell us what you think about her:

ME: Paragon Lost, plus unannounced Story DLCThe project of taking Mass Effect and distilling some story aspect of the universe into a form palatable for production as an animated short movie was a project that, quite honestly, slipped my attention after I first posted about it some months ago.
If you're in the same situation I was, here is the long and short of it. Mass Effect: Paragon Lost is an anime film created by Funimation --the same people who did the Dragon Age anime-- and will focus on James Vega and his mission against the Collectors before the events of Mass Effect 3.
And, Comic Con being a good a time as any, they just recently debuted a teaser trailer.

And by the way, fun fact; the bad guy in Halo 4 is voiced by the same guy as Harbinger. Go figure.
Now I'm not certain if this is still active, but Casey Hudson is taking a Twitter poll asking fans if they want ME4 to go forward or backward in the Mass Effect timeline.
Now don't kid yourself, the next Mass Effect game is a long ways away, all we know right now is that the protagonist will be radically different and the story will go somewhere entirely new.

Before we get into it, I'd like to preface this with the sad fact that both of Bioware's co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuck have retired from the company.

On the marginally plus side, I won't have to be constantly double-checking my blogs to make sure I got their names right.

For those of you who would like to pay their respects to the departing minds which have supporting Bioware through the years with their own thank yous and other supportive messages... do not go to the Bioware Social Network. Really, go anywhere but there. The Dragon Age forums are busy talking about Dragon Age 3 and discussing how terribly they are suffering, and the Mass Effect forums are busy talking about Mass Effect 4... and how terribly they are suffering.

Which leads me to the meat of the potatoes:

Mass Effect 4.

Well, to be specific, it was said that they're "planning another full game" set in the vast Mass Effect universe.

So it could be anything from Mass Effect 4 to a pre-Contact aliens-only game, or even cutting to the chase and making a dating sim...

... oh, who am I kidding; they're just making a James Vega game, aren't they?

What we do know that they will be doing is DLC focused on the issue of Omega. And that's what it'll be called; Omega. Coming this fall to a game platform near you!

(Off-topic, Frostbite 2-rendered Morrigan is going to look swingin'. Just saying.)

Sooooo... predictions, anyone? I don't think anyone's surprised at the Omega DLC, but what about (just going with) ME4? Pre or post trilogy? If post, which ending do you think it will be? (Not Refuse, don't be silly.) If pre, which race would you like the protagonist to be?

And of course, the all-encompassing question; how long until romance-threads for ME4 characters are started up?

My idea for ME4 is based around the original ending: the mass effect making dark matter destabilize the universe and Shepard, their LI and/or their kid(s) have to find some way to stop it. I haven't worked out all the details yet, but here are some of my more specific ideas so far:
1. Conrad Verner in the squad (if he survives, of course)
2. Return of driving the Mako (or a similar vehicle)
3. Having multiple LI's at once
4. Tali being recruited before Garrus
5. New alien species, with at least one in the squad
6. Quarians and/or Geth have a larger part on your side
7. Something to do with Dholen (Haestrom's sun)
8. New enemies that are somewhat similar to the Reapers, but their purpose is to prevent species from using the mass effect

Okay, I have a idea on how our beloved commander doesn't have to die. If only bioware would think on the consideration. Okay I think this can go for either ending, but mainly for the paragon or synthesis it could possibly work.

So since Shepard seems to be a strong willed and minded being who the catalyst has chosen pretty much. Maybe juuuust maybe there was just enough Shep particles to recreate Shepard on some distant planet where she/he is safe, plus Anders and thane i think would also be able to come back because Shepard would want it that way soooo the very strong person that he/she is could make it happen while being the new catalyst. Right?? (I have it more organized in my head so I hope everyone gets what I'm trying to throw out there..lol)
Renegade ending I believe the catalyst could of just teleport Shep or something out of there before the explosions because there's so much more Shepard has to do in the world.

It's a thought!

I can no longer trust Bioware...anymore..it makes me depress that they lied to their fans about the content of the game....

not looking forward to it especially with their DLC's

and if they make this a prequel or an MMO ( I hope it does not)

I'll give Bioware a BIG F*** YOU if that happens

HERE is the perfect POST Mass Effect 1-3 trilogy Game. PERFECT...you ready? And I'm being serious. We need to address the issue of life after the relays & DARK ENERGY. WHATEVER, WHATEVER you choose; control, synergy, or destroy, the relays were destroyed. So how can that technology be rebuilt, did society, all the brilliant minds even understand fully how they even worked at all. So yes, we need to address a new galactic travel method and also and more seriously DARK ENERGY

We say it in ME 1 and we saw it even more in ME 2 with Tali's recruitment level. Was that dark energy from the reapers? the geth? Nothing confirmed or denied either. There was NO official stand on both. In the games, all reaper influence was seen as red electricity, but dark energy was always purple. But what if, WHAT IF, it was neither the geth or reapers? What if it was someone or something else entirely? What if it was just an explainable phenomenon? What if you played as GARRUS, or lets make it even more interesting, what if you played as SHEPHERDS child?! you heard me, SHEPHERD's CHILD! Trying to set out on your own and walk in your father's (or mother's) footsteps? You join the military, who has a lead on what the cause of the dark energy is and now, being the child of the legendary (or infamous) shepherd, you have to go deal with it.

That puts room for a new antagonist, a new species if you even want to get into it, one that maybe all of the other alien races tried to keep a secret from humanity because it was embarrassing, or seen as reflection of all the other races failures and mistakes of the past that are NOW coming back to haunt them. What if the aliens are the reasons human fetus were exposed to biotic energy in the first place?!

Then in the game you could have older characters like Liara (who would be my shep child's mother) or Garrus, or some of the other non human characters that could live another 30, 40, or 50 years (child has to at least be a young adult) guide and help your character, but not in a combat way, more in a mentoring way. THIS WAY, you keep the old cast and the familiarity, but you get new combat characters to go from, new Love interests, new personalities and new story line.

So yes, there it is.....Mass Effect 4, you are shepherd's child, and you have to figure out what this dark energy is and where it came from.

Oh, and whatever your class specialization, that's what your child gets a "boost" in, so say that you are a male shep, you fell in love with liara, then you would be more "vanguard" (i believe that's the soldier/adept combo) biased (i don't like that word in this situation but it's the only one that I can think of for how I want to say, you would lean towards that the most and be better suited for).

What's your source on the news of another ME game? I'd like to see this for myself.

As for what could be the content of the new game if it is true... I doubt it would be a continuation of the original ME trilogy. The endings (I'm glad I can say the plural now) of ME3 are so distinct from each other now that making a continuation would be difficult. Possible if they had enough time, but I feel EA might get their hands dirty again and push the deadline. While another Shepard story would be fantastic, since I would really love to see how my crew is doing, I feel it's a slim chance. Maybe it'll be a prequel, like how Halo went for a while.
