I really need to get around to reading the second two issues of Mass Effect: Invasion before ME3 comes out. That, or just spoil myself.

Or read it online... and buy it later, of course, I'm no pirate.

Anyway, the last two characters for the last two issues of the Homeworlds series have been announced. We already have James Vega, and the quarian heartthrob Tali, but who else will be given an ME3 back-story?

Well, the third issue will be focused on the one and only Archangel of Omega and, possibly, Shepard's heart, the singularly sensational sniper; Garrus "Von Callibratour" Vakarian.

Don't believe me? Fool! I know all!

That's right, people. It. Is. Happening.

Of course, you fangirls had better hope that it's not about his turian military days, otherwise there's a good chance it'll feature Garrus' hatemance with the scout. But, really, if it is *backstory* backstory, it will most likely be about his days on Omega, formulating his team, with the last line in it being "My name is Archangel."

Now, for the fourth and final issue, the character who was chosen will no doubt generate mixed responses from this blog.

Mass Effect: Homeworlds Issue Four will focus on the Shadow Broker, Liara T'soni.

Yes, in addition to the inception of Mass Effect comics, the Redemption series, Liara will be making her return to the land of ten thousand words. Some might think that this is redundant, but remember; Redemption focused mainly on the plotline of the recovery of Shepard's body, whereas Homeworlds Issue Four will focus more on Liara as a character.

That's it for the comics, moving on we have some news about which I am personally doing my happy dance: Faunts will be returning in the soundtrack of Mass Effect 3.

Yes, in addition to Clint Mansell, Sam Hulick and the rest of Bioware's other composers --whose names I unfortunately can't recall off the top of my head-- Faunts, whose M4 Part 2 was a fantastic cap to a fantastic game, will be lending their talents to Bioware once again.

While not having been confirmed through release of a soundtrack track list, some expedient fans extracted numerous tracks from the demo, including some Faunts. www.youtube.com/watch?v=E526-G…

Gaaahhh, we must have the ME3 soundtraaaack!

In other news, in addition to the Female Shepard statue I mentioned last time, www.cooltoyreview.com/2012TF/K… , also coming soon are the Male Shepard, Garrus, and Ashley statuettes from Playarts Kai, and the Reaper die cast from Dark Horse.

Oh, no, I hear you say.

Oh, yes...

Oh, no!

Oh, yes!

Love it or hate it, it's not going to come packaged with ME3 or anything.

However, I've heard that preorders for ME3 will entitle you to a free copy of Battlefield 3. Now, I don't know the specifics of this deal, so if anyone has links to something that could extrapolate on it, I'd be most grateful.

What I'd like to focus on is the fact that Liara is getting another comic. I figure this will be talked about a lot in the comments, so I'd figure I'd get this across at the end of the blog rather than copy and paste my sentiments for every comment dealing with the subject.

In an attempt to keep this short, allow me to nutshellify my sentiments;

I can't speak in regards of people who don't enjoy Liara as a character, but in regards to people who just don't like her being featured in the franchise to the extent she is, let me say;

Liara is a favored character when it comes to the story of Mass Effect, there's no denying that, but stories have favored characters all the time. Dragon Age, with Alistair and Morrigan, Dragon Age 2, with Anders and Varric, it's not a foreign concept.

Secondly, I'd encourage you to engage in a thought experiment of sorts. If, instead of Liara getting the extended focus instead of your favorite character and the rest of the cast, your favorite character got this extended focus instead of Liara and the rest of the cast, would you still be complaining about one character getting the limelight instead of others?

Furthermore, one thing to keep in mind, at least when it comes to marketability, not all Mass Effect fans are so finely divided when it comes to characters. A fan doesn't have to romance exclusively Liara to buy Invasion Issue four or the Redemption series in order to enjoy it. Most Mass Effect fans I've met outside the internet are very broadly-interested when it comes to which characters they like. Remember; places like this blog and the Bioware forums are places where you will interact mainly with the hardcore fanbase.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on it. Comment away if you have a response to my thoughts or the news in general.

I'm happy Garrus and Tali are having their own comic!
About Liara, what intrigues me is if there is a reason behind "giving more importante" to Liara than any other character... I mean for the plot of the game! But I guess I'll have my answer in two weeks so... :shrug:
